As a man recovers from a serious beating, his alleged attacker is waking up in jail.
Springs police say 18-year-old Monta Scott punched the victim in the face multiple times during a fight at an apartment complex Tuesday night. The fight reportedly started inside one of the apartments on Michelle Court, near Fountain and Academy; police say after being punched several times, the victim went outside, where Scott followed and allegedly attacked again.
Police responded to the apartment just after 9 p.m. and say they arrested Scott after speaking to him, the victim and several witnesses. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Scott faces charges of second-degree assault.
