A woman who was rescued by firefighters after a fire started in her home in the middle of the night has died.
She has been identified as Ella Loder, 71.
The fire started around 1 a.m. Saturday in a home at the Quail Hill Mobile Home Community, near Galley and Babcock in Colorado Springs.
Firefighters say heavy smoke was pouring from the home when they arrived.
The woman was reportedly unconscious and not responsive when she was taken to the hospital with "significant" burns. She later died of her injuries.
The fire was contained to a bedroom. It took firefighters about an hour to get it under control.
Investigators say it was an accidental fire, caused by someone smoking while on oxygen.
According to a news release from the city of Colorado Springs, this is the first fire fatality inside the city limits this year.
