National Women's Health Week began on May 11th, and the El Paso County Health Department is urging women to make their health a top priority

There are simple steps a woman can follow to lead a healthy live for yourself and your family.

One of the most important is schedule preventative-care appointments. Also make sure you have screening tests such as mammograms and pap tests. These can find diseases early, when they are easier to treat.

Also live a healthy life, this includes eating well, find time for yourself, and stay active.

Last year in El Paso County 40% of women report they didn't have a pap smear, and only about 67% of women had a mammogram
