A memorial service has been scheduled for killed Compassion International worker David Hames, who died when his hotel collapsed in Haiti.
The service will be Saturday, March 6, at Vanguard Church in Colorado Springs. An exact time hasn't been set. There will also be a benefit concert held at the church on February 26.
Hames' remains were found after weeks of searching the rubble of the Hotel Montana's lobby, the last place he was seen.
Hames and Compassion worker Dan Woolley were in Haiti filming for a project for Compassion International, a Christian non-profit organization based out of Colorado Springs. Woolley was rescued in the days after the earthquake, and was flown back to Colorado.
Hames leaves behind a wife, Renee, and two sons, Aidan and Zander.
The benefit concert which will raise money for the Hames family as well as Haiti relief will be held on February 26 at 6 p.m. It will be at Vanguard Church, at 3950 N. Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs.
Latest Comments
Allison- This article is correct. The deceased is David Hames, the man who survived is Dan Woolley. The part that is a little off is that Dan Woolley wasn't a volunteer, he is employed at Compassion International, the company that they were filming for.
A pretty significant error...please correct: You refer to the deceased by the wrong name, making it appear that the person who survived is actually dead.
