The oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi was once again won by Pueblo Central Friday night. The Wildcats beat their arch rival Centennial Bulldogs 29-20 to keep the coveted Bell Trophy another year.
Pueblo County got a late touchdown to outpace Pueblo East in a battle of 3-1 rivals. The Hornets keep pace in the 3A Southern Conference.
Lewis-Palmer turned in another impressive shutout performance with a 28-0 win at Cheyenne Mountain. The Rangers are 5-0 and lead the Foothills Conference.
Fountain-Fort Carson rebounded after getting embarrassed last week when they lost 35-0 to Pine Creek. The Trojans returned to the field to throttle Widefield at home, 53-0.
Mesa Ridge beat foothills foe Air Academy in Kadet country 29-12.
In 5A football, Rampart won a defensive struggle over Doherty 10-7 and Palmer dropped to 0-5 on the season as Highlands Ranch beat the Terrors at Garry Berry Stadium.
In 2A action, CSCS got a huge 49-0 win over St. Mary's at the Grace Center. The Lions led 40-0 at halftime and improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Fowler Grizzlies dropped Hanover on the home turf, 56-12.
