Updated: 12/18/2013 - The Salvation Army needs your help! The Salvation Army says a donor who had pledged to donate 500 turkeys to The Salvation Army for their Christmas food bags has canceled. The Salvation Army is now in great need of at least 350 turkeys, whole chickens or hams before their Christmas food bag distribution to over 450 families on Saturday, December 21. If The Salvation Army does not collect enough meat, they will have to withhold food from their regular weekly food distribution to compensate. If you are able to help, bring a meat product to The Salvation Army at 908 Yuma Street in Colorado Springs between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Posted: 12/10/2013 - Yauk's Specialty Meats of Windsor, Colorado has recalled some 90,000 pounds of various meat and poultry products. Inspectors found that it was being produced under insanitary conditions, including rodent activity in the production, storage and retail areas of the property.
