Posted: 11/23/2012 - (PUEBLO, COLORADO) The holiday season officially arrives in Pueblo with the 12th Annual Holiday Lighting Extravaganza, presented by Loaf N' Jug. This joyful annual event will take place on November 23rd, beginning at 5pm near the Pueblo Riverwalk Welcome Center. Promptly following Thanksgiving, this Pueblo Riverwalk holiday tradition offers something fun for every age and this year it is expected to be the most exceptional Holiday Lighting Extravaganza yet. Under the Union Avenue Bridge children can take delight in charming holiday story telling, courtesy of the Pueblo City-County Library District. In addition to story telling, holiday arts and crafts will feature creative, hands-on activities. Children will have the opportunity to make their very own Christmas tree ornaments to proudly showcase around the Riverwalk. All the while, with help from our friends at KPHT 95.5 Pueblo's Greatest Hits Radio Station, we will be tracking the whereabouts of Mr. Claus himself, following his cold, long, journey from the North Pole to Pueblo. Have your holiday lists checked twice, because when Santa finally arrives, he will be ready to listen to the holiday wishes of the Riverwalk's patrons-young and old, as well as pose for memorable pictures. Santa won't just be spreading holiday cheer, but will also be showcasing the legendary Jingle Bell Rock. At the Riverwalk flood wall, live entertainment can be enjoyed from the Pueblo East High School Holiday Ensemble, Heaton Middle School Jazz Band, Upon a Star Entertainment Holiday Singers, and musical performer Al Eberhardt and his Holiday band. Warm yourself with a cup of hot chocolate as you sing and dance to some of your holiday favorites! Check out The Grand Staircase on the channel between Union Avenue and Main Street bridges and listen to the Salvation Army Brass Band, be sure to visit all of the great Riverwalk businesses on this magical night to see what they have to offer! Ride with Santa under enchanting holiday lit excursion boats, as you wait for the grand finale of thrilling fireworks. This bright display of holiday splendor will take place over the water near Lake Elizabeth at 7:45pm.
