Sand is available until it is gone on a first-come, first-served basis during daylight hours only. Posted: 07/16/2013 - Residents whose homes were destroyed or damaged in the Black Forest Fire will get free gate admission to the 2013 El Paso County Fair. Residents will only need to show a picture ID with an address matching the Assessor’s list of destroyed or damaged homes to receive the free gate pass for any day of the fair.
Posted: 07/15/2013 - STAGE 1 RESTRICTIONS : Prohibits the following activities: 1. Open burning, excepting fires and campfires within permanently constructed fire grates in developed campgrounds and picnic grounds, charcoal grills and wood burning stoves at private residences in areas cleared of all flammable materials, and those other exceptions/exemptions as noted in Section 8. 2. The sale or use of fireworks (as defined in Section 6) pursuant to C.R.S. § 30-15-401(1)(n.5). 3. Outdoor smoking except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
Posted: 07/15/2013 - The Colorado Springs Police Department is trying to identify the rightful owners of some recovered property. It was found during a recent burglary investigation. Police say the majority of the items were taken during home burglaries in Colorado Springs and El Paso County, sometime this year or last year. To check out the recovered property, click on the link.
Posted: 07/15/2013 - It may be mid July, but it's not too early to start thinking about the upcoming school year. 11 News wants to make sure all the kids in southern Colorado are ready to go back to school--and you can help. Starting Monday, July 15, we are holding our annual "Stuff the Bus" supply drive. For the next two weeks, you can drop off school supplies at bins set up at local Walmarts. Please join us in helping to make sure all area children get their school year off to a great start!
Posted: 07/12/2013 - There will be a benefit for Black Forest Fire victims from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Challenger Middle School on 10215 Lexington Drive. There will be a concert, silent auction, activities for kids and more. Tri-Lakes Cares will be there with collection truck, and other organizations will be on site to collect for first responders and La Foret.
