Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand at approximately 150 CPS inspection stations across the state to check car seats for proper installation. Posted: 08/01/2013 - Need to get rid of some old documents? KKTV and the Better Business Bureau are teaming up for the latest "Letter Rip!" All you need to do is pack your documents into boxes and head down to the Sky Sox stadium parking lot on 4385 Tutt Boulevard, where your documents will be shredded. The event is going on from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday Up to five boxes of documents will be accepted for free; you'll be charged $5 per box for any additional boxes. Plastics, cardboard, magazines, and files more than a half-inch thick cannot be accepted. E-waste and data destruction will also be available. Call Blue Star Recyclers for pricing. That number is 597-6119. The event is intended to help the public safely dispose of documents without any risk of identity theft.

Meeting is open to the public. - Fountain Creek Area Preparedness Meeting - Wednesday, July 24 - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Al Kaly Shrine, 6 South 33rd Street (33rd and Pikes Peak Ave.) Potential impact on Fountain and Camp creeks identified in the Final Flash Flood Risk Analysis for the Waldo Canyon Burn Scar will be addressed. Posted: 07/23/2013 - According to Colorado Springs Utilities, beginning August 1 drought surcharge pricing will decrease because of customer savings, weather conditions and late season snow pack. Outdoor watering will still be restricted to two days a week, but the the entry point for "block 3" water pricing has been increased to 2,500 cubic feet of water usage, up from 2,000 cubic feet.
