Posted: 08/15/2014 - PUEBLO, Colo.—August 15, 2014—The Pueblo Creative Corridor’s First Friday Art Walk festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Sept. 5, and highlight nature, rock art, beauty, anniversary events, Picasso, as well as offering a unique look via photography of Pueblo’s past and present. And, the performers will be entertaining in every district that night, including Runaway Grace, Mason Miller, The Band Sparrow, Ado Hernandez and Cinco Pa Winds, and in galleries are performers such as Salvatore Pace, Fireweed and Inner Tribal Spirit Drummers. So come visit! There are more than 35 art galleries, restaurants and businesses in the Creative Corridor. Ride the VanGO Art Shuttle for free, convenient traveling around the Creative Corridor loop with step-on, step-off service at 13 favorite locations. All activities associated with First Friday Art Walk are free.
Posted: 08/06/2014 - Some veterans can now get a special ID card to give them access to benefits they may be missing out on. The El Paso County Veteran Services will issue ID cards for veterans who do not have a military retiree or veteran health care ID card. The goal is to help vets with the discounts available to them. About 20,000 people in El Paso County could benefit from the cards, potentially saving them hundreds of dollars a year. To receive your card at no cost, call 520-7750 to set up an appointment.
Posted: 07/17/2014 - The national nonprofit, KidsandCars.org, is working to prevent kids from dying in hot cars. They want to research and develop technology to alert parents when a kid is left alone in a car. They have a month to get 100,000 signatures in order to get a response from the White House.
