If you are a parent trying to make a music list for a kid's Halloween party, make sure to preview and listen to any aforementioned music selections and use discretion when playing for children. Children's Halloween mixed CDs are usually available at most seasonal party stores.

Other Tips:

Usually any horror movie sound track will suffice as fun Halloween music.  If you are looking for something with more variety, sometimes seasonal Halloween stores carry fun compilation CDs. Grab two or three and you're set for the night.  Or suggest that your friends and guests bring their favorite Halloween CDs and have someone play DJ for the night.

Also, make music selection appropriate to the party's theme. If you are having an 80's flashback costume party, you can play music that was popular at the time to set the mood.

You can also buy a lot of music of this nature online at places like the Amazon Music Store and iTunes.  If you download a dozen or so scary soundtracks, songs, and spooky noises, you can mix them into your iPod or MP3 player's party playlist.  You can then hook your mobile music device up to your computer or a speaker dock for everyone to listen to and enjoy. Happy Halloween!
