Students at Corpus Christi Elementary School spent Monday morning making Valentine's cards for them.

Crafts and cards are being sent to some very special people. "Thank you veterans for saving us and our country." says Lynnea Rivera of Corpus Christi Elementary School.

That's because they are all going to troops overseas. "You don't realize how much they understand what's going on, they know a lot of what veterans have done for our country," says Veronica Nubolini, teacher at Corpus Christi Elementary School.

Jack Krause is sending an important message. "I'm going to say thank you veterans for fighting to make our country free," says Krause.

Even though the spelling may be off in some of the cards, the message is still loud and clear. "Say thank you for helping our country thank you for doing everything that you can do and we hope you come back soon," says Jake Beer of Corpus Christi Elementary.

"Well, it's a little thing, but it's really nice because they know we are supporting them and we are thanking them for what they are doing," says Beer.

The students also made Valentine's cards for local veterans. All the cards will be sent out on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
