A local man got the ball rolling Friday in a possible recall election, aimed at two of Colorado Springs city leaders.
11 News is told a local homeless advocate, 59-year-old Patrick Ayers, filed the recall paperwork with the City Clerk Friday. Ayers has made it publically known that he does not believe Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera and Vice Mayor Larry Small are fit to make the City of Colorado Springs financially stable.
Ayers announced he was going to file the recall after ballot issue 2C, which would have meant a property tax increase, was voted down on Election Day last week.
Once the city's signature sheets are given to Ayers, he will have 60 days to collect more than 14,300 signatures to force a recall election.

Where do I sign and can I help.
Yes please get this moving. We need to recall both of these irresponsible greedy men. If you know how to do a search in the county tax records, you will find that both of these men own million dollar homes. Really---where did their money come from? Considering I have the same education from the same University that Rivera attended and the same military experience he does---yet I can't find a decent job here in Colorado Springs? Folks it is a publicly known fact that employers here pay 25 to 30% less than the national average and yet these two lame brain politicians are giving $29 million dollars to USOC rather than trying to bring attractive and well paying jobs here. Please let me know when and where and I will sign.
Where do we sign, I am ready!!!
