It's the last day to register to vote in Colorado to vote in next month's presidential contest.
Voters have until the end of business to submit paperwork to the state if they're not already registered to vote. Both parties are planning last-minute registration drives today to boost registration.
A new poll shows the state evenly split over the presidential race, with Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain each gaining support from 44 percent of likely voters. The poll was released yesterday by The Denver Post and conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research.
Libertarian candidate Bob Barr had the backing of 4 percent of the voters in the latest poll, which surveyed 625 registered voters September 29th-October 1st.
Another 8 percent of the state's voters are undecided. The poll's margin of error is 4 percentage points.
