Smithsonian Magazine is celebrating "Museum Day" with free admission to participating museums all over the country on Saturday, September 24th. Twenty-six museums are taking part in Colorado, including Miramont Castle in Manitou Springs. We have a link to the website where you can claim your tickets.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting "Family Outdoor Skills Day" on September 24. Your family can stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for tips on all sorts of outdoor skills including fishing, archery and gun use. It's at the Ramah State Wildlife Area northeast of Colorado Springs. It's free for everyone; those under 16 years old must have an adult present.
You can receive free admission to nearly 50 public sites in Colorado on Saturday, the 24th, as part of National Public Lands Day. You're invited to help with improvement projects at each one, and teach your children how to care for our resources. Many of these sites have special activities on hand. For instance, Great Sand Dunes National Park has a concert planned.
It's the time of year for pumpkin patches, and here's one you can visit for the free. The Gathering Community Center in Colorado Springs is hosting a Fall Festival on September 24. You can pick a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, enjoy hayrides and all sorts of Autumn fun. The church is will hold the festival from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
