Women's Final Four Huge Boost For Denver Economy

The NCAA Women's Final Four has been a huge boost for Denver financially, pumping $20 million into the city's economy.

The women's Final Four was sold out for the first time in history, according to sister station KCNC. In turn, the huge number of people descending on Denver are using their money at local restaurants, hotels, bars, etc.

Promotional events and meet-and-greet with the nation's best female basketball players have also brought people out in droves. KCNC reports long lines to get autographs--and plenty of money spent on fan merchandise from Tourney Town.

“This is an exciting time and the whole city and everybody who comes together. It’s just a fantastic, fun party,” Ohio visitor Margie Miller told KCNC.

The success of the women's Final Four could also prove to be a carrot in the future, luring other major events--and money--to Denver.
