There's a small bright spot in the economy today.
First time claims for unemployment benefits were down about 16,000 last week, to 339,000.
That's according to marketing analysis site, briefing.com.
First-time unemployment claims are seen as a barometer of how strong or weak the job market is.
These latest figures show fewer employees are being laid off, however, that doesn't mean hiring is on the rise.
