With the weekend finally here, many of you may be planning to hit the road. Whether you're headed up to Denver for a Rockies game or headed down to the Pueblo Reservoir--you're probably going to have to stop for gas.
But with the number at the pump as tumultuous as ever, where can drivers go if they want to save?
Even though it may not feel like it, Coloradans are actually better off than much of the country when it comes to gas prices, with the state average well below the national average of $3.68. Only six states have cheaper gas than Colorado according to gasbuddy.com
A gallon of regular gas in Colorado Springs on average will cost you $3.43, 25 cents below the national average. The cheapest gas can be found at the Everyday Station on Peterson Road, Costco on Barnes and Sam's Club on Woodmen. Gas at these locations is $3.34 a gallon.
If you're going to fill up in Pueblo, the biggest bang for your buck is going to be the Western Convenience on South Prairie, where a gallon of regular gas will set you back $3.32.
If you're headed up to Denver--you may want to fill up before you go. Gas prices in the metro area on average are closer to $3.50 a gallon.
Overall, gas prices are down about 20 cents from this time last month, so this weekend could be a good time to get out on the road.
