NEW YORK (AP) -- A day after two major divisions at Random House Inc. announced reorganizations and confirmed job cuts, a third division has also reconfigured and reduced.
The Random House Publishing Group, where authors include E.L. Doctorow, Suze Orman and many others, unveiled numerous personnel changes Thursday and also acknowledged that "some positions across the division" have been eliminated, according to a statement.
Random House Inc. announced last month that it was consolidating its divisions from five to three. On Wednesday, spokesmen for two of those newly expanded divisions, Knopf Doubleday and Crown, said there had been minor layoffs, on top of reductions made last fall and at the end of last year.
All three divisions say reorganization has been completed and that no further cuts are expected.
