Colorado Springs Police say they've solved a string of burglaries in southern Colorado, but they need help finding more suspects.

Three teens are accused of breaking into several homes and stealing electronics, jewelry and guns.

Colorado Springs Police Lt. Mark Comte said the accused juveniles would walk along the creek to figure out which houses were empty. He said they would ring the front door bell, when no one answered they would jump the back fence and break into the house.

"They're kicking in the back doors or breaking windows to gain entry into the homes," said Lt. Comte. He doesn't think the kids were acting alone on their crime spree either. Unlike other recent burglaries and robberies, he thinks these thieves are not taking out of necessity. "I don't know if it's actually a sign of the economic times, or if it's a sign of they have something I want, I don't have it so I'm going to take theirs," added Lt. Comte.

Cops say they found a vacant home along Sand Creek where their suspects stored some stolen goods. "In one case we did find a home that contained some stolen property taken from other homes within the neighborhood," said Lt. Comte.

Crimes like this have cops on edge because they say they don't have the man power to proactively deal with criminals. "We are constantly in a reactive mode right now, so it's very frustrating," said Lt. Comte.

The names of the three suspects are not being releases because all three of them are underage.

Colorado Springs police say because these suspects took weapons they could face first and second degree felony burglary charges.

CSPD says if you would like to help out by starting a Neighborhood Watch program in your neighborhood you can contact your local substation. Their information is available by clicking the link below.

Let me summarize this for you: 1) The police have three specific prime suspects. 2) They don't know where they are but the public probably would if we knew who they were. 3) Kids can commit crimes, but it's ok - we'll protect their identity. 4) Change the law. 5) Enough said.

But since they are possibly facing felony charges doesnt that mean that their records cant be sealed (if convicted)? I understand that while your young you make mistakes (I have made plenty myself) but these crimes are a little more serious than just kids being kids. Personally I think their records should be out there for the whole world to see and we (the public) have the right to know who they are. These "kids" should be punished to the full extent of the law. If they had guns who knows what could have happened... they could have taken one to their next robbery that might have had someone in the house or they could have sold it and then whether they knew it or not had someones blood on their hands.... And yes I know thats a lot of speculation but you have to think about the consequences of your actions when your going to do something that stupid.
