COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sky Sox) - Ryan Cordell and Brett Phillips each drove in a run, but the Oklahoma City Dodgers used four home runs to defeat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 11-2, in front of 7,416 at Security Service Field Saturday night.
Colorado Springs (38-28) scored their two runs in response to two Dodger runs in the third inning. With two outs, Cordell lined a triple over the head of right fielder Max Muncy to score Nate Orf for his 43rd RBI and break up the early shutout. One batter later, Phillips skied a fly ball that the wind dropped in shallow left field to score Cordell for the cleanup batter's 45th RBI of the season.
The Sky Sox and Dodgers continue their four-game series Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. MT, when LHP Brent Suter (3-1, 4.11) faces RHP Trevor Oaks (3-1, 3.84) for a Father's Day matinee, presented by The Navigators.
The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a Sky Sox youth glove, while all fans can have a pre-game catch on the field at 12 p.m. Fans also have the chance to meet "Field of Dreams" star Dwier Brown, who will be in attendance for Sunday's game.
