PUEBLO, Colo. Colorado State University-Pueblo Director of Golf Josh Koschke is excited to announce the signing of Kellsey Sample to the Pack Women's Golf team during the NLI Early Signing period.

Sample will be an incoming freshman during the 2017-18 season after she graduates from Palmer Ridge High School in Monument, Colorado. She finished tied for 10th at the 2016 4A Colorado State Championship in her junior year.

"Kellsey is a phenomenal addition to our program," Koschke said. "She brings the passion and desire of being a high level student-athlete and the drive to become a great college golfer.

Sample was named first team all-conference in the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference as well as being named to the 2016 Colorado All State Team. In 2015 Sample again was named a first team all-conference player and finished t-13th in the 2016 4A State Championship.
"She's received great golf instruction for many years and understands how to manage her game and golf swing," Koschke said. "I am looking forward to helping her take the next step in her golfing career here at CSU-Pueblo."

The Pack finished fourth in the second Rocky Mountain Athletic Tournament of the fall. They will return to action this spring season as they try to improve on their third place finish at the 2016 RMAC Golf Championship. Sample will join the Pack for the 2017 fall season.
"I look for Kellsey to finish her senior season very strong and contend for a State Championship," Koschke said. "With the progression she makes each season I see her being able to contribute to our top 5 immediately. The group we have coming back and the addition of Kellsey makes us a contender for years to come."
