COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs junior guard Elijah Ross led the RMAC in assists in the opening weekend and scored a career-high 30 points against Tarleton State to earn conference Offensive Player of the Week honors this afternoon.
Ross scored the game-tying field goals at the end of regulation and at the end of the first overtime period in his 30-point performance during a 103-100 double overtime win for the Mountain Lions against Tarleton last Saturday. He opened the season with 11 points and eight assists against Angelo State on Friday in an 86-74 loss. Ross was a perfect 16-for-16 at the free throw line in the two games.
Ross is leading the RMAC with 6.5 assists per game and in free throw percentage. He is third in the conference with 20.5 points per game.
Ross and UCCS will open the home season tonight in a 7:30 p.m., game against Johnson & Wales.
