NASCAR: Bristol Race Extended to Monday Due to Rain

BRISTOL, Tenn. Intermittent rain forced NASCAR to halt Sunday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Lap 204 of 500. The NASCAR Cup Series race will resume on Monday at 11 a.m. MT (1 p.m. ET) and will be televised on FOX.

For Furniture Row Racing driver Martin Truex Jr., Bristol has simply been a weekend to forget. He got collected in a Lap 3 accident, suffering major left-front damage to his No. 78 Auto-Owners Insurance Toyota. He has continued to drive the damaged car and is positioned in 29th place, five laps down.

“There were cars spinning, I stopped in the nick of time but then got run over from behind,” Truex said about the Lap 3 accident. “We’ll keep on battling and see what happens.”
