Lamar wins First Girls Basketball State Title in 19 Years

DENVER Lamar high school girls basketball had won 4 state titles coming into this weekend. The latest was in 2002. Saturday, they bring the title back home with a 24-18 win over Colorado Springs Christian.

"This is what we've worked for over the past five months. We put in the work over summer, we put in the work over the season. Its jsut a great feeling to know that our hard work has finally paid off. We put in 100 percent and now we're state champions." said Lamar Sophomore Brecken Payne.

Lamar finishes the season 25-2 and is the new Class 3A state champion.
