Hamilton Named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior middle blocker Taylor Hamilton used 4.3 kills and 0.8 blocks per set last weekend to earn RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors this afternoon. She led the Mountain Lions to a 3-1 record in the Steel & Silver Classic.

Hamilton finished with back-to-back 20 kill matches in a 3-0 win against No. 12 Wayne State and a 3-2 win against Texas A&M-Commerce. She made seven blocks against Commerce and hit greater than .300 in matches against Newman and Wayne State.

Hamilton is leading the RMAC with 4.03 kills per set and is seventh with a .309 hitting percentage. She is ninth in Division II with 125 kills and No. 27 with 4.6 points per set.

UCCS will begin the RMAC season Friday with a three-match win streak. The Mountain Lions travel to Chadron State for a 6 p.m., match at the Chicoine Center.
