COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs junior golfer Alex Darwin will receive the 2017 RMAC Women’s Golf Summit Award during next week’s conference championships as the golfer with the highest cumulative grade point average at the tournament. She has a 3.988 GPA in accounting.

Darwin is leading UCCS with 79.81 strokes per round and a pair of top-10 finishes this season. She earned the only two RMAC Golfer of the Week awards in program history this season after the West Texas A&M Invitational Oct. 3-4, and the Las Vegas Desert Classic March 5-6. Darwin has six of the top 10 rounds in program history and is on pace to break her own UCCS record for season scoring average.

Darwin was a member of the RMAC All-Academic First Team last season. She is a four-time member of the UCCS President’s List with a perfect 4.00 semester GPA and a one-time member of the Dean’s List with a semester GPA between 3.75 and 3.99.

UCCS will compete at the 2017 RMAC Championships on Monday and Tuesday, April 24-25, at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz. The Mountain Lions finished as the runner-up at the tournament last season.
