BRONCOS SIGN RB JONATHAN WILLIAMS TO PRACTICE SQUAD

The Denver Broncos on Wednesday signed running back Jonathan Williams to their practice squad, it was announced.

Williams (6-0, 223 pounds) is a second-year player who spent his rookie season with Buffalo after being selected by the Bills in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft from the University of Arkansas.

In 11 games with Buffalo, he rushed 27 times for 94 yards (3.5 avg.) with one touchdown. In three preseason games with the Bills in 2017, Williams gained 121 rushing yards on 21 carries (5.8 avg.) with one touchdown. He was waived by Buffalo on Sept. 3.

Williams started 24-of-36 games played in four years at Arkansas (2012-15), rushing 406 times for 2,321 yards (5.7 avg.) with 16 touchdowns in addition to catching 26 passes for 345 yards (13.3 avg.) with six touchdowns.

Jonathan Williams was born on Feb. 2, 1994, in Allen, Texas.
