U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force junior Billy Christopoulos was named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week in leading the Falcons to three points against AIC, Feb. 2-3.

Christopoulos’ .962 saves percentage and a 0.96 GAA in the series were the best among all league goalies last weekend. The native of Raleigh, N.C., earned his second shutout in the last six games. On Friday, he stopped all 29 shots he faced, including 15 in the first period when the Falcons were outshot 15-5. In that first period, he saved a penalty shot as the Falcons won 3-0. On Saturday, he stopped 22 of the 24 he faced, including the only shot in overtime in a 2-2 tie.

The weekly award is the second for Christopoulos this season and the seventh by a Falcon. Christopoulos was also named the AHC Goalie of the Month for October and January.

Air Force, 14-11-4 overall and 9-9-3 in the AHC, travels to Waltham, Mass., for a two-game league series against Bentley, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 9-10. The Falcons will then face Sacred Hart on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in a conference game that was postponed due to the government shutdown on Jan. 20.
