Air Force announces 2018-2019 Hockey Schedule

COLORADO SPRINGS The Air Force hockey team opens the 2018-19 season with an exhibition game against the University of Alberta, Sunday, Oct. 7, at 5:05 pm.
The Falcons open the regular season at home against the University of Denver on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:05 pm. The next night, the battle for the Pikes Peak Trophy continues as the Falcons travel to the Broadmoor World Arena to face Colorado College, on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Atlantic Hockey Conference play begins with a road series at Canisius on Oct. 19-20. The first conference home series is Thursday-Friday, Oct. 25-26, against Niagara. Along with DU and CC, the non-conference schedule includes a home series with Bemidji State, Dec. 29-30, and two games in the second annual Ice Vegas Invitational, Jan. 4-5, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The Falcons join Connecticut, St. Lawrence and Western Michigan in the two-day tournament.
Air Force is coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second straight year and the third time in school history. The Falcons also claimed their seventh AHC Tournament championship in the last 12 years. Air Force closed out the 2017-18 season with a 23-15-5 overall record. At the NCAA West Regional in Sioux Falls, S.D., Air Force defeated No. 1 St. Cloud State (4-1) before falling to eventual national champion Minnesota Duluth (2-1) in the Elite Eight. The win over St. Cloud State marked the first time the Falcons have ever defeated the nation’s top team.
