COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Hundreds lined the streets from North Nevada to the county jail to pay their respects to a fallen hero.
Deputy Micah Flick, 34, was killed while doing his job Monday afternoon -- keeping the community safe.
A stolen car investigation took a violent turn Monday and escalated into a shootout. At the end, Flick and the suspect were dead and two deputies, a police officer and a bystander were all hurt.
Law enforcement and citizens alike took to the streets to salute Flick as a hearse carried him from Memorial Hospital to the El Paso County Coroner's Office.
People who were there say the streets were somber and quiet as Flick passed.
