Call For Action update: Vet's eyesight restored after being denied surgery at last minute

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A happy update to a Call For Action investigation.

Last week, we told you about a veteran fighting to see again after the VA canceled his eye surgery.

"Just extremely frustrated and helpless," Danny Webster told 11 Call For Action investigator Katie Pelton then.

We're happy to tell you that since our story aired, Webster has had his surgery and can, as he put it, "see clearly now."

Webster's surgery was to fix scar tissue that formed after cataract surgery. The scar tissue had rendered him almost blind. He was all ready to go at a private doctor, but the VA canceled it hours beforehand, even though Webster had an approval letter from the VA to get the surgery.

After our team got involved, the VA allowed the Air Force vet to get the surgery after all.
