MONUMENT, Colo. (KKTV) - The town manager and police chief for Monument are both on paid leave, the 11 News Call for Action team confirmed Wednesday night.
The board of trustees voted to open an investigation into the town manager during their meeting on Monday. Soon after that, the board then voted to place both Town Manager Chris Lowe and Chief of Police Jacob Shirk on paid administrative leave.
11 News is looking in why the decision was made and the discussion on the incident that sparked the action happened behind closed doors. 11 News has calls into the board, the mayor, the town manager and the police department and is waiting for more information.
