Police: Man found in Colorado Springs storage facility murdered

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) A missing person investigation led law enforcement to a business in central Colorado Springs, where they found a man shot to death.

El Paso County deputies received the tip early Wednesday morning, and found the body at Century Street Storage on North Century Street, close to Nevada and Fillmore.

"They were checking the welfare of a person who may or may not live inside the storage unit," said CSPD spokesperson Sgt. Joel Kern. "As they were checking the welfare at this unit, they found the body."

Springs police arrived at the scene shortly after 5:30 a.m.

Based on autopsy results, which were released Thursday, police say the man's death is being investigated as a murder. The deceased was identified as 57-year-old Marcus Anderson, of Colorado Springs. Authorities are still not saying if Anderson was the person deputies were looking for.
