Springs VA on short lockdown after man spotted with weapon

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs VA was on a brief lockdown after a man was spotted in the nearby open space carrying what looked like a rifle.

Police say after speaking to him, they confirmed the firearm was a BB gun. The man was deemed not to be a threat and left the area.

The incident was reported a little before 12:30 p.m. Monday at the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom Outpatient Clinic on 3141 Centennial Blvd. The clinic butts up against a large open space where homeless people are known to set up camps.

Police told 11 News the man with the BB gun was possibly homeless.
