Police search for suspect in 2 Colorado Springs robberies

7-Eleven robbery on S. Academy Blvd.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police are searching for the man who they believe robbed two 7-Elevens early Sunday morning.

Colorado Springs officers first responded to the 400 block of N. Murray just after 1 a.m.

During the investigation, they learned that an armed black male reportedly walked into the store wearing a shirt tied around his face. He's described as 18 to 20 years old.

The suspect then held out a gun demanding money and cigarettes before taking off. No injuries were reported.

Less than two hours later, police believe the same suspect robbed a second 7-Eleven about 1 mile south of the first location in the 300 block of S. Academy Boulevard.

Officers say again, he held out a gun and demanded cash.

Once officers arrived, they tried to track the suspect with a K-9 but did not find him.

The robberies remain under investigation. If anyone has any information, call police at 719-444-7000 or remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
