Police release sketch of sexual assault suspect

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) The man who sexually assaulted a runner, then dragged her by car for two blocks is still at large.

But Springs police now believe they know what he looks like -- and are hoping someone in the public will recognize him.

The incident happened on May 6 at 5 p.m. As 11 News previously reported, the victim had just finished her run and was walking in the area of South Murray Boulevard and Dewey Drive when the man started following her. Police say he first started making suggestive remarks, but when the woman continued to ignore him, he grabbed her inappropriately. The woman fought him off, then chased him to his car.

According to police, the woman confronted the suspect after he got in his car, and that's when he grabbed her by the hair and started driving. She was able to free herself from the vehicle after two blocks.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid to late 20s with a medium build, short black hair and "extremely" chapped lips.

His vehicle is a light blue, four-door sedan with an Oklahoma license plate. The make and model are unknown, but police say it's a newer model.

If you recognize the suspect, call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000. Anonymous tips can be submitted at 719-634-STOP.
