Police: Suspects lead officers on chase in stolen BMW

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Two men were arrested in Colorado Springs after allegedly leading officers on a short chase in a stolen BMW.

Officers tried to stop the car in the area of North Academy Boulevard and Village Road South around 1:30 Monday morning after recognizing it as a possible stolen vehicle. Police say the driver refused to stop and tried to outpace officers for half a mile before crashing into a curb at North Carefree and West Carefree Circle.

Police say several suspects spilled out of the car and tried making a run for it. Officers chased after and caught two.

Identified as 20-year-old Andrew Thomas and 18-year-old E'majin Willis-Tejan, both men are facing charges related to the stolen vehicle. The suspects also had unrelated warrants out for their arrest.

Police initially thought the BMW was the one stolen late Sunday night from a Springs apartment complex, but later confirmed it was actually stolen out of Lone Tree.
