Mother of Schelling murder suspect pleads guilty to robbery

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The mother of a man arrested for the murder of Kelsie Schelling, a pregnant woman who went missing in 2013, pleaded guilty to a 2017 robbery on Tuesday.

Sara Lucas, 49, was arrested on the robbery charge the same day her son was arrested for murder.

The robbery took place Sept. 1, 2017 in the 1100 block of W. Mesa Avenue in Pueblo.

Sara's son, Dushon Lucas, 19, was arrested on Nov. 14. Her other son, Donthe Lucas, 25, was arrested for the robbery on Nov. 13 and then arrested for charges of first-degree murder in the Schelling case.

Lucas' guilty plea comes on the same day that Donthe had a court hearing.

Lucas will be sentenced for the robbery August 13.
