EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Several law enforcement agencies were able to crack down on an illegal marijuana grow Friday with the help of local Crime Stoppers tips.
Around 11 a.m., detectives from the Metro Vice, Narcotics, and Intelligence Division (MVNI) along with deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Rural Enforcement and Outreach Unit and members of their SWAT team all responded to the 5400 block of Slocum Road near Falcon Highway and Curtis Road.
MVNI received eight Crime Stoppers tips in the last year on the residence regarding a marijuana grow.
Once they executed a search warrant, they found an outbuilding that was converted into a grow operation. They discovered 38 marijuana plants, 20 pounds of packaged, refined marijuana and two rifles. They also seized $4,000.
It's not clear if any arrests were made.
