Man with out-of-state warrant arrested after standoff with SWAT

SECURITY, Colo. (KKTV) - A wanted felony suspect was taken into custody after a standoff with SWAT late Tuesday night.

Law enforcement responded to Snead Street in Security around 9 p.m. on a disturbance call. One man inside refused to come out.

A spokesperson with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said the suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody around midnight without further incident.

The suspect, identified by EPSO as 29-year-old Joshua Helton, is wanted on a felony charge out of Texas in addition to the charges he now faces for the events of Tuesday night. It's unknown yet if he will be extradited.
