Hotel clerk injured in northeast Colorado Springs robbery, surveillance photo released

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police are investigating a robbery that happened at northeast Colorado Springs hotel.

The robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Days Inn on the 8300 block of Razorback Road.

According to the original report, the clerk working at the hotel told police two men walked into the lobby and hit him with a mailbox. Police said later that day, he was hit with a ceramic mailbox that was on the counter at check-in. Just more than two weeks later, police clarified it was a ceramic bowl.

That's when the robbers took cash and took off.

The clerk was taken to the hospital and treated for lacerations on his ear and head.

On March 5, police released a surveillance photo from the incident.
