1 in custody after double shooting

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) - Police say they now have one person in custody after a shooting in a Fountain home early Thursday morning.

Two people were hurt and taken to the hospital.

"Officers responded to a home here at about the 300 block of Maram Way to investigate a disturbance," Fountain Police Sgt. Scott Gilbertson told 11 News. "Officers learned there was a firearm discharged and at least two people were hit."

The person police now have in custody was not one of the two shot.

Gilbertson initially was given information indicating the three people involved were roommates but told 11 News later that initial information was incorrect. He was unable to comment on the nature of the relationship but said there was no danger to the public.

Gilbertson was unable to provide any details on what led up to the shooting.

Maram Way is located off Fountain-Mesa Road, less than half a mile south of Mesa Road.
