U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (KKTV) - Want some alcohol with your football? You'll get your wish this upcoming season at Falcon Stadium!
The Air Force Academy announced this week that they will be allowing beer and wine sales during games at the stadium.
“We started a fan-engagement committee two years ago and one of the desired improvements was to offer alcohol in a controlled setting at games,” said Athletic Director Jim Knowlton. “We have worked hard with our teammates on base to ensure we have best practices in place to keep Falcon Stadium a family-friendly environment. We are confident we can do this responsibly and successfully and add to the fan experience.”
Cash-only sales will start an hour before the game and will be available at designated locations above sections M1 and M15. Customers will be limited to two beverages at a time, and sales will end midway through the third quarter, the AFA said in a release.
With this move, the AFA joins seven other Mountain West Conference schools who are already doing alcohol sales at games.
The season opener is just around the corner: Sept. 2 against Virginia Military Institute at noon MST.
