PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Two deadly crashes in Pueblo Saturday night shut down much of I-25 for hours.
The crashes were not related and happened about 12 miles apart, on opposite sides of the interstate.
The first crash happened at 6:30 p.m. around mile marker 107 just north of the city. An 18-year-old man was traveling southbound when State Patrol says he lost control of his car, drove off the road and flipped his vehicle. The driver and one of the two passengers were both thrown from the car. The driver died at the scene and the passenger was seriously injured.
State Patrol identified the driver Sunday as Randy Derossett, of Pueblo. The two girls riding with him were both under 18.
Alcohol and speed are being investigated as factors.
Two hours later, a second deadly crash occurred on I-25, this time at mile marker 95 at the Illinois Avenue exit. Pueblo police have not released any other details about the crash.
We will update this story as new details become available.
