COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) Colorado Springs Police say early Thursday morning two people barged into a convenience store and went straight to the cash register. One of them had a knife.

It happened near South Circle Drive and Monterey before 3 a.m.

The two people are caught on surveillance cameras going behind the counter. Their faces are covered.

Police say the clerk did the right thing by staying calm and trying to stay out of the way.

"I had full adrenaline when they came in. I told them just take whatever they wanted, I'm not going to risk my life," Justin Stroup said.

"The clerk did the absolute correct thing by not interfering and not putting his life at risk," said Sgt. Anthony Santoro with CSPD.

Police are looking for more surveillance video to solve the crime. The two crooks got away before police got there.
