Clerk shot during convenience store holdup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Things escalated during a robbery overnight, ending with a store clerk getting shot.

The victim said a pair of masked men barged into the Western Convenience on 227 W. Fillmore St. just before 3 Friday morning. Police say they don't have a lot of information yet on what led up to the shooting, only that one of the suspects and the clerk got into an argument that ended with the employee shot in the arm. The victim's condition is unknown.

The suspects fled the area, and police dogs were unable to track them down.

The masks made it difficult for the victim to see the suspects' races or ages. No suspect description is currently available.
