COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - An ambulance driving in east Colorado Springs luckily spotted two cars on fire, where the AMR crew was able to report the flames before it spread.

It happened at Smartstop Self Storage near Airport Road and S. Academy Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the area and were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

Apart from the two cars destroyed, the flare-up caused just minor damage to a small part of a storage unit roof.

The cause is under investigation. This comes just a day after two other cars caught on fire on N. Nevada Avenue.
