Police: Man attacks person with a broom, crashes into city bus in Stratmoor Valley

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs police are investigating a crash involving a domestic violence suspect and a city bus.

The crash happened at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1200 block of Maxwell Street, the neighborhood is in the Stratmoor Valley area.

Police say they received a report of two men fighting in the 2400 block of Gina Drive near Astrozon and Chelton. One man had reportedly attacked another man with a broom stick and then tried to run him over with a vehicle.

When officers arrived on the scene the suspect continue driving down southbound Academy Boulevard. According to police, the suspect slowed down and started weaving on and off the shoulder before turning into the Stratmoor Valley Neighborhood. That's when the suspect sideswiped a city bus and crashed into the back of a parked vehicle. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries before he was arrested.

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Jeremy Lamb. Lamb faces charges of domestic violence, vehicular eluding and possession of narcotics.
