Security concerns at DIA, area deemed safe by police

DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KKTV) - There were TSA screening delays at the Denver International Airport (DIA) Tuesday afternoon as law enforcement investigated a security threat. The area was deemed safe by police hours later.

DIA sent out a tweet at about 3:45 p.m. stating, "Due to a potential security concern the south TSA screening lanes are closed. Passengers may continue to use the north or bridge checkpoints while law enforcement investigates. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The airport didn't elaborate on what those concerns were.

At about 5:30 p.m. the Denver Police deemed the area safe. The south TSA terminal was not reopened Tuesday night because there was scheduled maintenance taking place.
