Attempted murder suspect arrested after search in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A wanted man was arrested Wednesday night after an hourslong search in the area of South Circle Drive and Monterey Road, Colorado Springs police announced.

On Friday, the suspect was named as 25-year-old Irving Rodrigues-Munoz.

Officers tried to stop the Rodrigues-Munoz's vehicle about 6:30 p.m., but he allegedly eluded them and fled on foot, said Lt. Steve Noblitt. The man was wanted on suspicion of multiple felonies, including attempted murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

An automated emergency call was sent out to residents within a half-mile radius of South Circle Drive and Monterey Road, telling them to stay in their home and lock their doors and windows.

The suspect was eventually caught in the backyard of a home.
